Attitude toward the Subject of Chemistry Inventory (ASCI)

Purpose

The ASCI assesses students’ attitudes regarding “chemistry” as a body of knowledge or practices.

The constructs the ASCI measures are chemistry:

  1. Interest and Utility

  2. Anxiety

  3. Intellectual Accessibility

  4. Fear

  5. Emotional Satisfaction

Population

The ASCI is commonly administered in university chemistry courses in courses for majors and non-majors.
