Take an Adaptive (Cognitive Diagnostic) Assessment

Some assessments, such as the Mechanics Cognitive Diagnostic, are adaptive: the questions you get depend on your earlier answers. You may take one several times during a term to see how your skills grow.

What is different

  • You cannot go back. Once you click NEXT, you cannot change that answer, so take your time on each question.
  • Length varies. The number of questions depends on the skills your instructor chose.
  • A second short section may follow, marked “This item is under development.” Answer these as well as you can; they help improve the assessment.

The rest works like any assessment: click COMPLETE SECTION at the end, then answer the consent form and background questions. See Take an assessment.

See your results

When you finish, you can view your report, which shows your proficiency and which skills you have mastered.
