Quantization and Probability Representations Inventory (QuPRI)

Purpose

The Quantization and Probability Representation Inventory (QuPRI) is designed to assess students’ understanding of the electron structure of the atom, including the representations of the Bohr model, electron cloud model, probability model, boundary surface model, and fundamental chemistry quantum concepts.

Population

QuPRI is commonly administered in introductory chemistry courses (general chemistry, physical chemistry, and biophysical chemistry) and high school chemistry courses. 

Typical Performance

 We have not performed an analysis of the LASSO data for typical performance, but the literature shows that this assessment was administered to first-semester general chemistry (GC) students and physical chemistry (PC)/biophysical chemistry (BPC) students.

Validity

QuPRI content validity and accuracy were reviewed by 11 seasoned instructors teaching general chemistry and/or physical chemistry. QuPRI has been researched valid in quantitative and qualitative data. Relevant articles are listed below:
